With 35 years of experience running scuba diving expeditions and 20+ of wildlife watching, we enjoy ‘all things sea’. Offering the very best of wildlife watching adventures, fishing trips, Go Ashore trips, wild-swimming and snorkelling, we strive to ensure everyone has a the best possible experience with us. From the fun filled family friendly trips to the wildlife enthusiast and bespoke charters, we offer a local island welcome abord with us.
Passionate about sustainable tourism we are WiSE accredited operators and take care to strike the balance between giving incredible wildlife encounters, without impacting on their wild lives.
We run beach cleans, participate in community science monitoring and survey programs, contribute to research projects, and collaborate to promote and develop ecosystem biodiversity enhancements.
We are keen to adventure, entertain, educate, facilitate, create and collaborate with the ambition of leaving our wee corner of the world a rich treasure for future generations to enjoy as we do now, or better!
WHO WE ARE
GORDON MACKAY
Gordon, raised in Skye, established the business in Stein in 1987. Having spent a lifetime at sea, as a professional diver and skipper there is no-one who knows the the coastline of NW Skye better. He loves to share this spectacular marine environment, its impressive wildlife, our rich heritage and stories with you, all packed up with some laughs and fun.
AILEEN MACKAY
Aileen, also a diver and skipper joined Gordon in 1989 and together they evolved the business at sea. When the family arrived, she became more shore based, in the office organising everyone’s adventures. Escaping to sea whenever she can, she is passionate about all things marine and is the driving force behind our shared environmental vision, projects and community science ambitions.
JAMIE MACKAY
Jamie, loved the sea from an early age, escaping dry land at every opportunity! At 10 he enjoyed his first dive, started sailing and kakaying. Off to sea with OYT Scotland by 14 his future was clear. With a successful career at sea, he professionally skippers vessels around the UK’s coast from Shetland to the North & Irish Seas and joins us aboard whenever he is home.
CALUMN MACKAY
Calumn also loves the sea and by 10, diving, sailing and kayaking were his escape. Sailling with OYT Scotland at 14, and on Silurian with HWDT at 15, adventures at sea were calling. Studying outdoor adventure tourism at college he is a sea kayak expedition leader and instructor. Working ‘offshore’ has secured vital experience for work, at home off the coast of Skye.
